Based in Alice Springs this NT-wide project is another step towards a mental health peer workforce in the NT. The National Mental Health Commission will release Guidelines for the Peer Workforce in early 2021. More opportunities for peer workers are surely coming!
The My Recovery, peer-led education and support program is returning in 2021. My Recovery is free and open to people over the age of 18 who are living in the Greater Darwin region and have experienced issues related to mental health, trauma or alcohol and other drug use.
The Youth Foyer Approach
NT Shelter are hosting a Youth Foyer forum to consider and explore the case for a Youth Foyer in Alice Springs: what could it look like, what benefit would it bring to young people as well as the wider community, what would it take to set-up the Model, and who needs to be involved?
