The Northern Territory (NT) Office of Disability has developed a discussion paper on the proposed NT National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Restrictive Practices Authorisation Framework.

The proposed NT NDIS Authorisation Framework will provide a process for registered NDIS service providers to request authorisation for the use of a restrictive practice(s) while maintaining safeguards for NDIS participants in the Territory. The proposed NT Authorisation Framework will only apply to NDIS participants that have a behaviour support plan (BSP) that includes a restrictive practice(s) developed by a registered NDIS behaviour support practitioner and receiving NDIS supports.

The introduction of the NT NDIS Authorisation Framework will be a new function for the NT Government and your feedback on the proposed structure, key features and process is important and most welcome.

Forums will be held in Darwin and Alice Springs and will give you an opportunity to further discuss the proposed NT NDIS Authorisation Framework.

The venues are wheelchair accessible. Please advise of any other accessibility requirements on the registration form.
