NTMHC responds to NDIS Review
For the past two years in partnership with other state and Territory peaks, the NT Mental Health Coalition has been advocating at a Territory and national level for the funding of psychosocial supports to meet the needs of Australians currently ineligible for the NDIS. NTMHC welcomes the NDIS Review Report released last week and has written a response.
NTMHC 2022-2023 Annual Report Presented At Our AGM
NT Mental Health Coalition held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 16th November at Menzies School of Health Research in Darwin. The NTMHC 2022-2023 Annual Report was presented with comments from Anne Gawen as Chairperson, Dira Horne as Treasurer and Geoff Radford as CEO.
First NT Mental Health Week Awards Ceremony Held in Central Australia
This was the first year that the NT Mental Health Coalition held a Mental Health Awards Ceremony for Central Australia. The event which took place on October 30th was opened by Traditional Owner Benedict Stevens at Alice Springs Desert Park. 45 people were in attendance as Alice Springs Town Council Mayor Matt Paterson handed out the awards.

NTMHC Response on Youth Justice and Child Wellbeing Reform Across Australia
NT Mental Health Coalition have written a submission responding to specific questions posed by the Australian Human Rights Commission on Youth Justice and Child Wellbeing Reform across Australia. Evidence from numerous reports and the NT Royal Commission is clear on factors that lead to overincarceration of youth, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the Northern Territory.
