Expressions of Interest are now open for the Northern Territory Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG). The LEAG is a key initiative of the NT Homelessness Strategy 2025–2030 and will ensure that the voices of people with lived experience of homelessness help shape homelessness policy, programs, and service responses across the Northern Territory.
The LEAG will be delivered in partnership by YWCA and Anglicare NT.
YWCA are seeking people who:
Represent all 6 regions of the NT
Have previous personal lived experience of homelessness
Are willing to share their experiences to help improve systems and service
Can participate in discussions respectfully and collaboratively with a diverse group
Are passionate about creating positive change for people experiencing homelessness
And are keen to hear from people from diverse backgrounds, including:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
People with experience of domestic, family and sexual violence
Young people (18-25)
LGBTQIA+SB people
People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
People with disability
People from remote and regional communities
What does participation involve?
Online meetings approximately once every two months (around two hours)
1-2 in-person meetings each year, with travel and accommodation covered
Training, mentoring, and ongoing support
Recognition payments for their time ($100/hour)
Expressions of Interest can be submitted online or over the phone and will close on 21 August 2026.
